It was founded in 1872 by Captain Frank Henry, who returned from the 9th Queen`s Royal Lancers and joined the Gloucestershire Royal Yeomanry. The club is one of the oldest polo clubs in the United Kingdom and has a rich history of hosting prestigious polo events, including the Coronation Cup.
